Tershara Matthews is dedicated to establishing sustainable and equitable energy solutions. With an extensive career working both in the public and private sector at the interface between science and policy, Tershara has first-hand experience in turning scientific data into actionable policy change, ensuring that offshore wind development not only meets regional needs but also fosters a sustainable future. Today, as national offshore wind policy lead at WSP, her unique background and expertise enable her to maintain a comprehensive perspective on the industry’s challenges and opportunities.
Tershara also worked at the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management’s (BOEM) where she spearheaded the first marine spatial program for offshore wind in the Gulf of Mexico region. Leading a cross-bureau team, including multiple state and federal agencies, and tribal nations, she played a pivotal role in planning and executing the inaugural Gulf of Mexico (GOM) Renewable Energy Task Force and Task Force Meetings. Tershara guided the development and Congressional approval of two budget initiatives for the Marine Minerals Program which increased the baseline funding by $7 million.
