Bardex Corporation
The Bardex corporation is nominated for their OmniCraneTM, a self-contained system capable of lifting and positioning all the components that make up the wind turbine generator including tower sections, nacelle, hub, and blades. By assembling the nacelle, hub, and two of the three blades over land, at quay level, the number of heavy lifts is minimized and working over water is eliminated, reducing safety risks, assembly problems, and the possibility of weather delays.

Black & Veatch Construction (BVCI)
Black & Veatch is an employee-owned engineering, procurement, and construction company with over 100 years of innovations in sustainable infrastructure. Black & Veatch believes safety doesn’t occur by accident – it is thoroughly planned and developed for each specific project site. Black & Veatch has developed a HSE model combining the safety protocols for onshore construction with the uniqueness of the quayside environment including working at heights and marine training protocols. This scope is currently being executed on the first utility scale offshore wind project in the US, Vineyard Wind 1, through supporting the deployment of the first 13MW offshore (WTGs) installed in US federal waters. Using the safety method developed for offshore wind quayside wind turbine management and deployment, they have had zero recordables and improved the execution duration of tasks allowing for more focused evaluation of new processes being introduced with the changing site dynamics.

HeliService USA
HeliService USA’s Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) and Search and Rescue (SAR) program bridges a critical safety gap in the growing offshore wind industry along the U.S. East Coast. This initiative offers a robust and reliable emergency response service tailored to the unique challenges of offshore wind operations, including harsh weather conditions and remote locations. Providing 24/7, year-round coverage, the program represents a transformative approach to safety, setting a new standard for Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices on the U.S East Coast.

Sea Services North America
Sea Services North America, a co-op founded by fishermen for fishermen, is nominated for addressing long-standing safety deficiencies in the fishing industry. SSNA has created a scalable pipeline of highly trained fishermen and compliant vessels for offshore wind projects. Through rigorous training programs and vessel upgrades, SSNA has elevated safety standards for over 100 fishermen and 20 vessels across seven states to the highest international levels, benefiting OSW developers and generating over $12 million in income for fishing families
