Why New York?
New York state boasts one of the most complete end to end supply chains for the American offshore wind industry, visible through millions of dollars in local investment, a skilled workforce supported by innovative training programs, and multiple projects under installation today. From the establishment of the National Offshore Wind R&D Consortium and the tower and foundation manufacturing at the Ports of Albany and Coeymans, to the investment in the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal for O&M and staging, as well as South Fork Wind Farm (the nation’s first commercial-scale wind farm), New York is a shining example of leadership in the U.S. offshore wind industry.
