Getting to Newport

Located along Rhode Island’s scenic coastline, Newport is accessible by air, rail, and car, with convenient connections from Providence, Boston, and other major New England cities.

Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD), located approximately 27 miles from the Newport Marriott Hotel & Spa, is the closest major airport. Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), approximately 74 miles away, offers additional domestic and international flight options.

Travelers arriving by rail can take Amtrak to Providence or Kingston and continue to Newport by rental car, taxi, rideshare, or regional bus service. Those driving can access Newport via Interstate 95 and Route 24.

Getting Around Newport

Travel Tip: Attendees are encouraged to arrange transportation in advance when traveling to or from regional airports, particularly during peak arrival and departure periods.

IPF welcomes participants and delegations from around the world. If you are traveling to the United States from abroad, we encourage you to review entry requirements and make travel arrangements well in advance of the event.

Arrival & Airport Connections

International travelers connecting through a U.S. airport should allow sufficient time for immigration, customs processing, baggage collection, and any required security screening.

We recommend allowing at least 2–3 hours between connecting flights, particularly if you need to:

  • Clear U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
  • Collect and recheck checked baggage.
  • Complete additional security screening before your connecting flight.

Processing times vary by airport, arrival volume, and individual travel circumstances. Confirm connection requirements with your airline when booking.

Visas & Entry Requirements

Depending on your country of citizenship, you may need a visa or authorization through the Visa Waiver Program to enter the United States.

Attendees are responsible for confirming applicable entry requirements and securing any necessary travel documentation before departure. We encourage international participants to begin this process early to allow sufficient time for visa processing and travel arrangements.

PLEASE NOTE: There will not be a General Service Contractor (GSC) for the 2027 IPF Exhibit Hall. Exhibitors are responsible for coordinating any electrical service, furnishings, shipping, material handling, and other booth services directly through the hotel’s designated service providers.
