Sylvana Gregg became a full-time policy associate here at the Network in May 2024 after graduating with an M.S. from UNCW. She began this role after a year-long internship with the policy department that she started in May of 2023 and continued during the final year of her master’s degree. In her internship position, Sylvana gained essential offshore wind knowledge writing, researching, and aiding with working groups. In her new role, she is excited to continue building this knowledge by developing working groups, contributing to Network products, building connections in her home-state of North Carolina, and assisting with policy team projects.
Before she began interning at the Network, Sylvana attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington from 2019 to 2024. In her time there as an undergraduate, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Marine Biology. In 2022, she began her graduate journey working towards a Master of Science in Coastal and Ocean Policy. During this program, Sylvana focused her Capstone research on offshore wind power procurement, examining issues seen with contract cancellations, and potential solutions for states to remedy this issue through standardization. She recently graduated with an M.S. in May of 2024.
Sylvana is from Hershey, PA and currently lives in Wilmington, NC. She loves spending the day at the beach on the weekends, taking yoga classes on the pier in the mornings, going on walks outside, and grabbing coffee from the local shops.
