BALTIMORE — Oceantic Network today announced U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland as a keynote speaker for its annual International Partnering Forum (IPF), happening April 22-25 in New Orleans. Haaland’s remarks will reflect on the historic build-out of the U.S. offshore wind industry and her work with the Biden-Harris administration to advance its development. She will also provide an overview of the Department of Interior and Biden-Harris Administration’s ongoing efforts to secure robust domestic supply chain and labor agreements that benefit local communities and a national supply chain.
“Our industry has seen a remarkable buildout since last year’s IPF, with our first commercial-scale projects providing power to the grid.” said Liz Burdock, founder and CEO of Oceantic Network. “The leadership of the Department of Interior and its key agencies have been indispensable partners to our industry’s advancement under Secretary Haaland. As she and the Biden-Harris Administration continue their work, her regulatory insights will prove invaluable to companies as they plan the next generation of offshore wind projects.”
Secretary Haaland will be a Keynote Speaker at the Network’s Plenary Session, happening Wednesday, April 24 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. CST. Since taking office in 2021, Haaland has placed an emphasis on community engagement and environmental justice as the Department of Interior works to achieve a just and equitable energy transition that prioritizes American jobs and local community benefits.
