Yes to Wind 2025 Week of Action

Week of Yes to Wind (Nov. 15 – 23, 2025)

In partnership with Climate Action RI (CARI), the creator of the “Yes To Wind” campaign, Oceantic Network, alongside national and regional partners, organized simultaneous, locally grounded events to create a wave of visible support that counters opposition narratives and shows decisionmakers that communities across the country stand behind offshore wind.

This Week of Action was anchored by community events, coordinated press engagement, digital amplification, and petition delivery. Together, these efforts highlighted the diversity of support—from labor to small businesses to youth leaders—under a unified theme that details the economic and environmental benefits of this American energy industry.

Nov. 19 — South Fork Wind Lunch & Learn Webinar

The discussion will be moderated by Adrienne Esposito of Citizens Campaign for the Environment and Julie Tighe of the New York League of Conservation Voters. Connecticut leaders and community members are coming together to stand up for clean energy and good local jobs. Attorney General William Tong, New London Mayor Michael Passero, climate organizations, and advocates from across Connecticut will host a press conference as part of the regional “Yes to Wind” Week of Action. Join us on the pier to show your support, hear from community leaders, and learn more about how offshore wind benefits our economy, health, and climate.

Nov. 17 — Yes to Wind Luncheon

Location: Baltimore, MD

Venue: Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI) at Johns Hopkins University
ROSEI hosted a luncheon as part of the “Yes to Wind” national campaign to promote offshore wind energy in the US. Over 30 faculty, postdoctoral researchers, graduate and undergraduate students got together for lunch. Though mostly a social event, the group was given a prompt and discussed everyone’s “Yes to wind” moment that made them was to pursue a career in this field. Those that were moved to speak included faculty members with decades of experience in the field and leaders of the Academic Center for Reliability and Resilience of Offshore Wind (ARROW), graduate students that are at the outset of their careers, and undergraduate students that are new members of the Hopkins Student Wind Energy Team.
