Michael Freeman serves as the Federal Affairs Director at Oceantic Network, where he focuses on domestic offshore wind energy supply chain policy. He works with public interest groups and federal, state, and local representatives to ensure offshore wind energy development aligns with economic development, climate goals, community growth, local priorities, and conservation.
Before joining Oceantic Network in May 2025, Michael was a Senior Policy Analyst, Renewable Energy at Ocean Conservancy. His previous experience also includes roles at the Center for American Progress and The Pew Charitable Trusts.
Michael holds an M.S. in Disturbance Ecology/Entomology from the University of Washington and a B.A. in Biology & Environmental Studies from Eckerd College. He is based in Washington DC, where he can often be found hiking, creating insect art, or talking a little too much about Star Wars.
