Julia Gerringer serves as the Regional Policy Director at Oceantic Network, where she leads state and regional engagement efforts to advance offshore wind and marine renewable energy development and strengthen the U.S. supply chain. She works closely with industry, government, and community stakeholders to track policy, address permitting challenges, and foster collaboration that supports responsible, sustainable industry growth.
Julia joined the Network in 2022 as Grants and Contracts Manager before moving into her current role in 2024. Prior to Oceantic, she served as the Grants Coordinator for the Children’s Museum of Wilmington, N.C., securing over 70 grants and leading projects focused on STEM education and community outreach. One of her proudest achievements was obtaining funding to bring hands-on STEM programming to the MLK Center in Wilmington, expanding science-based education for underserved children.
Julia holds a B.S. in Marine Biology & Conservation and an M.S. in Coastal & Ocean Policy from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Her graduate capstone examined the intersection of offshore wind development along the Atlantic coast, large marine mammal migration, and the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA).
Based in Wilmington, N.C., Julia can often be found on the local beaches, exploring the region’s eateries and breweries, or curled up with a good book.
