Baltimore – The Oceantic Network’s 2020 International Partnering Forum (IPF) kicks off again this week with the first of seven biweekly Livestream series events, IPF Livestream: Innovation. The Livestream series, taking place June through August, is a collection of events featuring high-level industry CEOs, experts, and public officials discussing market challenges, regional cooperation, innovation, grid transmission, the future of U.S. offshore wind and more. (view full schedule.)
As the largest offshore wind conference in the western hemisphere, IPF is dedicated to connecting the offshore wind industry. This year IPF has made steps to connect decision makers despite the need for physical distancing though its adoption of virtual platforms that will enable the supply chain to network and receive time-sensitive information needed to make strategic business decisions. The Livestream series will feature events including a plenary hosted by Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo with governors from New England, Developer Town Halls with industry titans like Ørsted, Dominion Energy, and Mayflower Wind, as well as discussions with CEOs from MHI Vestas to the Global Wind Counsel. The series will also feature offshore wind updates from coastal states including New Jersey Gov. Murphy and Virginia Gov, Northam, and networking events like WindMatch™ one-on-one networking, CareerMatch™ virtual job fair, and an exhibit hall.
The schedule kicks off at 9 a.m. EST on Thursday, June 11, dedicated to innovation within offshore wind energy. During the half-day seminar, innovators like Siemens Gamesa will discuss the future of its monolithic 14 MW 14-222 DD turbine, which will usher in a new age of offshore wind development in the U.S. IPF also will tackle the economic and workforce development opportunities when scaling-up blade manufacturing and installation of large turbines on massive commercial projects like Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) 2,600 MW wind farm. Attendees will cap off the day hearing from offshore wind developer Vineyard Wind, who will provide a project update on their 800-megawatt offshore wind farm project off the coast of Massachusetts.
