Overview
Facilitator Disclosure of Proprietary Interest Policy: As part of our commitment to transparency and integrity, we require all instructors to disclose proprietary interests they may have related to content they present. This includes but is not limited to ownership interests, financial interests, and consulting agreements.
Ownership Interests: Instructors must disclose if they own shares, stocks, or other equity in a company that produces or markets products related to the industry. For example, an instructor might hold shares in a wind turbine manufacturing company.
Financial Interests: Instructors must disclose any direct financial gains from product promotion or endorsement. This includes royalties, commissions, or profits based on sales of specific products. For instance, if an instructor endorses a particular wind energy software tool and receives a percentage of sales, that would be a financial interest.
Consulting Agreements: Instructors must disclose any consulting agreements with manufacturers, suppliers, or service providers. These agreements could create a vested interest in promoting certain products. For example, an instructor who consults for a company specializing in offshore wind farm maintenance might have a proprietary interest in their tools or services.
